Patrick O’Donnell

President & Chief Executive Officer

For over 25 years, Patrick has established a successful track record in the medical device, biologics, and biomaterials industries with technologies in the orthopedic, spine, neurosurgery, and sports medicine markets. As an executive officer of biosurgery and medical device companies, he has created the strategy, built and led Board of Directors and Executive Management teams, and raised over $80M in capital to fund and execute product development and clinical programs towards regulatory milestones.

In addition to NanoHive, Patrick is a member of the Board of Directors for Ortho RTI, Inc. and Renovos Biologics, Ltd.  Patrick's prior experiences include most recently the General Manager and Executive Vice-President of North America for BoneSupport A.B.  Prior to BoneSupport, Patrick held CEO roles at Proteothera, Histogenics, Prochon-BioTech, and commercial roles of escalating management responsibility with J&J DePuy Spine.

Tim Jette

Chief Financial Officer

Tim spent over 25 years at Medtronic in a variety of increasingly progressive financial roles and has extensive experience in commercial channel strategy, global business unit support, complex manufacturing networks, M&A and acquisition integration, as well as technical accounting.  Most recently, Tim worked at Medtronic as CFO of the Americas Cardiac and Vascular Group, helping drive growth in a $6B commercial channel.  Prior to that, he was CFO for the Global Structural Heart Business, helping launch the transcatheter heart valve in Europe and the US.

  

Tim began his career as a CPA with Coopers & Lybrand in Boston and holds a BS in Finance/Accounting from Boston College, as well as an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth Graduate School of Business.

David Rattigan

Vice-President of Sales

David Rattigan joined NanoHive in 2019 as Area Vice President of Sales, with 18 years of experience in the spine and biologics market. In 2020, HD promoted David to Vice President of Sales to manage national sales efforts.

Prior to joining HD, David was Regional Manager with Titan Spine (acquired by Medtronic) and spent 15 years prior with Medtronic's Spine and Biologics business.  He has achieved multiple accolades in his career, including Presidents Club, Pyramid of Excellence, Region of the Year and is a past volunteer with Healing The Children's Medical Mission trips to China.  

David graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a B.A. in Marketing and Organizational Communication and later attended Grand Valley State University Van Andel Global Trade program for a professional certificate in International Trade. 

Ian Helmar

Vice-President of Research & Development

Ian Helmar is one of the founders of NanoHive with over 10 years of experience designing 3D printed spinal implants and complex instruments.

As the head of Research and Development for NanoHive since 2016, Ian designed the company's core Soft Titanium lattice technology and has led the development effort of HD's product lines.

Ian holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Ken Dieselman

Vice-President of Marketing

Ken has over 15 years of building and managing Marketing and Engineering teams in the spinal implant and biologics markets.

Prior to joining NanoHive, he held VP and Senior Director roles at Stryker Spine, K2M Spine, Smith & Nephew and J&J DePuy Spine.

Ken graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and Boston University with a Masters in Business Adminstration

Christy Rickrode

Quality Manager

Christy Rickrode joined the NanoHive Quality team at HD in 2017.

Prior to joining HD, Christy was a Senior Development Engineer for FloSpine.

Christy holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Biomechanics from the University of Florida as well as a certificate in General Additive Manufacturing.

MANAGING DIRECTORS

Rodney Burns

Rodney was a co-founder of Roofing Supply Group, LLC in 1981.  The Supply Group had over 50 locations across the US, and sold to the Sterling Supply Group.  Rodney then invested in one of the leading providers of a cloud based integrated Workplace Management System with over 100 major brands.

 

His current focus is investing in the medical industry.  He continues to be a lead investor and board member for multiple medical device and regenerative medicine companies.  

Timothy Helfet

Tim Helfet was CEO of Rysher Entertainment and joined Rysher in 1991 as Chief Operating Officer, before being promoted to President and CEO in 1997.  He is an investor and principal in various privately held companies and has served as a member on numerous boards for both profit and non-profit companies. 

A native of South Africa, Tim graduated from the University of Cape Town in 1972 with a B.A. in Economics and an M.B.A. in 1975

Chris Jones

A long-time roboticist and entrepreneur, Chris began in medical devices developing robotic exoskeletons for clinical rehabilitation and to study human biomechanics and neuroscience.  He has leveraged this skillset to commercialize several orthopedic and electromechanical medical devices through FDA.    Since founding NanoHive, Chris has led laboratory and clinical research programs as well as technology innovation and intellectual property.  He is active in the academic and entrepreneurial community, mentoring entrepreneurs and peer reviewing for publications including IEEE. 

Kevin McArdle

Kevin is an Advisor to the Managing Directors.  He is an experienced, strategic CFO with an extensive background in debt and equity fund raising (public and private), licensing, and internal control systems. 

 

Kevin is the current CFO of AccuVein, Inc. and previously was the CFO of Cheetah Medical, Histogenics, and Prochon- BioTech

Scott Pantel

Scott is CEO of Life Science Intelligence (LSI), a leading medtech-focused market research and advisory firm.  Scott is Founder of the Emerging Medtech Summit and serves as a Board Advisor to several venture funded startups, healthcare venture funds, and a medtech SPAC.  Scott has been in the medtech industry for over 20 years and has managed over 200 consulting engagements with numerous leading medtech companies.
